Former Aston Villa star Paul McGrath has criticized Chelsea for sacking Thomas Tuchel and hiring Graham Potter.
McGrath wrote: “I hope, for the sake of the future of the club I supported as a child, that this decision does not backfire against Chelsea. All those players who came to Chelsea in the summer joined him, realizing that Tuchel was at the helm – Rahim. Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly. And also Wesley Fofana and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, just to name a few, they should be interested in what’s happening on earth.”
He continued: “Potter has taken the reins at Chelsea. I admit that he did a good job at Brighton despite the financial situation that saw him sell his best player every summer.”
He added: “When you are Chelsea and you need a coach, a club that was European champion last year and is a club world champion should only get the best. Zidane or Mauricio Pochettino.
