Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang admitted that former manager Thomas Tuchel was “upset and saddened” when he was sacked, but insisted the Blues must adapt quickly to his successor Graham Potter.

A 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb at the start of Chelsea’s Champions League campaign prompted him to quickly sack Tuchel, and Aubameyang played for an hour in that clash.

“Everyone knows what kind of relationship I had with Thomas, it’s sad when someone leaves the club, I only saw him for a few days,” Aubameyang was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

And if he contacted Tuchel after he was sacked from the club, Ohba revealed: “Not yet, I think he was upset and sad and obviously I will try to talk to him as soon as possible.”

“It’s been a crazy week for everyone, we have to adapt and I think there’s a bit of sadness and hopefully we’ll be back to better times soon.”

Aubameyang played in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Salzburg in the Champions League.
