Arsenal head coach Michael Arteta has expressed his concern about Emile Smith Rowe’s ongoing injury.

“I am concerned about the fact that he is not available and when he tried to train he did not feel 100% or pain free. This is the main problem. We must find a solution and try to make it happen. Arteta said.

Asked how Smith Rowe handled the situation, Arteta added: “Very frustrating. He’s a young man who loves to play football and that’s the most important thing in his life and when you can’t do that, especially after the string of matches and performances he had the year before, it’s hard.”

He continued: “But injuries are part of football. You will receive them at this stage of your career. The most important thing is how you face those difficult moments and then how you take the next step.”

“We have an obligation to manage him in the best possible way, surrounding him with the right habits, with the right people around him, to support everything he needs to play consistently at this level.”
