Amer Hussein, competition curator at the Egyptian Clubs Association, said there is a proposal to continue holding Egyptian league matches during the 2022 World Cup starting on November 20.
Hussein indicated in statements to the Egyptian channel Al-Hayat that there would be no problem from FIFA as it was an internal matter and that the Algerian league had decided to play league matches during the World Cup. , which is their internal affair and the International Federation does not interfere in it.
He added that he had presented to the Clubs League a vision for shaping the league’s schedule and playing matches during the World Cup for clubs.
Regarding the draw date for the new Egyptian League season, Hussein confirmed that it will be determined within two days at the coordination meeting between the Club Association and the sponsor company and that the league will start either on the 17th or 18th of this month and he was postponed for a day from the previously set date due to the return matches of the Egyptian teams in the continental championships.
