The Harvard graduate went viral on social media after leaving US Attorney General Merrick Garland’s keynote address on Sunday. Emma Huessner described Garland’s departure as an “easy decision”.
“I just left Harvard prom because I didn’t want to hear Merrick Garland talk about himself for 30 minutes,” said Emma Huessner, a Harvard graduate and Daily Caller social media director.
Alum also shared a video of Garland appearing in his graduation speech.

When asked what motivated him to leave the ceremony, the graduate told the Daily Caller, “I sat there for over two hours listening to people speaking Latin, respecting friendly formalities.”
“When Merrick Garland took the stage, I really wanted to go out and meet my family,” Huessner continued. “These are the people who helped me get to where I am and supported me to get into Harvard in the first place.”
The decision to leave was an easy one for me,” he said.
Heussner added that the decision to leave is easier when you hear part of the conversation.
“Even though I heard him talk when I came out, I’m relieved to hear how ‘terrible’ our country is and what we should do about it as graduates, because he’s incredible—a person of faith and immediate results. in the decisions he makes,” Huessner said.
In his keynote address, Garland spoke three times about the events at the Capitol on January 6, urging Harvard graduates to devote some of their lives to public service, citing the recent shootings in Texas and New York as the reason. serve your people.
