Elon Musk Says He Votes For Republican Maira Flores Who Responds To ‘Leave’ To Democrats

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter earlier on Wednesday that he voted for Republican candidate Maira Flores in the last special election in Texas’ 34th congressional district, and also predicts “a big red wave in 2022.” After his historic victory, Flores replied to Musk: “Welcome to the Republican Party! We welcome anyone leaving from all walks of life. The Party of Opportunity, Prosperity and Freedom is permanent. We look forward to working together and building a better future for all of America.” ”

In a recent tweet, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said he voted for Republican candidate Maira Flores in the 34th district of Texas special election. Flores won the election, giving up a seat that had been in Democratic control for forty years.

Musk announced that his vote for Flores was the first time he voted Republican. The billionaire went on to predict “a big red wave in 2022.”

When asked who he would support as the Republican presidential nominee, Musk replied “DeSantis,” referring to the Florida Governor. Ron DeSantis (R-FL):

Another user asked if he expects a Republican president in the coming years, and Musk replied “confirm”. Musk also responded to a tweet where the criticism he received recently from Democrats asked if it was the first time he had faced serious opposition from politicians on the left, to which Musk replied “yes”.

Flores reacted to Musk’s announcement that he would vote by accepting the Republican Party and stated that he supports “everyone who leaves from all walks of life”.

Breitbart News wrote about Flores’ electoral victory:

Texas’ historic Democratic 34th Congressional District has held a special election for a remaining two-year term after a previous lawmaker left the district to work for lobbying company Me Gump.

Then the government called. Greg Abbott (right) is a special election to fill the seat in the current rows of Congress. However, Flores is competing against Rep in November. District changer Vicente Gonzalez (D-Texas) left his old district to compete 34th for a full term under the new Congressional line.

As Flores got more than 50 percent of the vote, he won the seat immediately and avoided the runoff with Republican Juana Cantu-Cabrera, along with two Democrats—Dan Sanchez and Rene Coronado.

Flores’ win in the snap election means he will also serve as president in November in a region that will clearly be more Democratic. However, it could also set the tone for the GOP’s win over borderline Spanish voters.

Breitbart News also previously reported that Musk had said he would vote Republican in the future, despite voting “too many” Democrats for most of his life. Breitbart News wrote:

According to a Business Insider report, Musk made the billionaire’s views on Twitter when speaking at a tech conference in Miami on Monday – after the deal to buy the platform was “stopped” – and discussing free speech.

“The truth is, as you know, Twitter is very leftist right now,” Musk said. “I would classify myself as a moderate, not a Republican or Democrat.”

“Historically, I’ve voted so many Democrats—not sure, frankly, I would never vote for a Republican,” the SpaceX CEO continued. “Today, I will be a candidate in this election.”

Musk did not specify whether he was talking about the midterm elections in November or the 2024 presidential election.
