British Prime Minister Boris Johnson returned to work this afternoon after undergoing minor surgery to resolve a sinus problem, a spokesman said.
“He feels fine and is scheduled to return to the office this afternoon. It is expected that tomorrow he will preside over the council of ministers [terça-feira]”the source said, quoted by Sky News.
The operation was only made public on Monday, but it had been scheduled “for a long time”, having been described as a “routine” intervention.
“He arrived at the hospital around 6am and… was back in Downing Street shortly after 10am,” the spokesman said. Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab was put on notice in case of complications with general anesthesia for the 58-year-old prime minister.

In April 2020 he spent several days in the hospital, including three days in intensive care after contracting Covid-19during which Raab, at the time Foreign Minister, served as interim head of government.
The British prime minister is scheduled to travel to Rwanda later this week for a Commonwealth conference, and later this month he is due to attend summits of the G7 in Germany and NATO in Spain.
