Theoretical physicists believe that intelligent alien civilizations can send quantum messages to Earth.
And the journal Physical Review D. states that according to researchers, particles of light or photons can travel long distances without losing their quantum properties.
This means that scientists looking for signals from outside the Earth can look for quantum messages from civilizations on other planets.
As is well known, scientists are currently developing quantum communication technology that uses quantum particles to transmit information to Earth. This method of communication is potentially safer than traditional communication. If intelligent aliens exist, they must also have mastered this technology.
According to researchers, the main barrier to quantum communication is quantum discord, a phenomenon in which a quantum particle loses its “quantum” when interacting with a dense and aggressive environment. Because the quantum state is so fragile and easily “broken” by outside influences, there are many challenges associated with working with quantum computers, where scientists have developed custom error correction systems.
But because the average density of matter in space is lower than on Earth, the particles are expected to travel farther before they separate.
Scientists from the University of Edinburgh are calculating how far light, especially X-rays, can travel in interplanetary space without being “damaged”. They realized that X-ray photons could not only cross the Milky Way, but also travel hundreds of thousands of light-years away.
Based on these findings, researchers are developing strategies to search for quantum messages from other planets.
