At least 15 people have died in the floods that devastate the US state of Kentucky, confirmed this Friday the governor of the region, who foresees a rise in fatalities as the rains continue to fall.
“It’s devastating,” Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear told CNN before touring the disaster area, noting that there are fifteen confirmed deaths, including children, and anticipated that the total number could be more than double.
Search and rescue teams backed by the National Guard are currently searching for missing people in the unprecedented flooding that has affected entire communities in some of the poorest places in the United States.
