Russian military engineers used the BMR-3M (Viper) armored vehicle to clear mines at Mariupol airport in the Donbass region.
This armored vehicle was previously used for mine clearance on power lines near the city of Volnovakha in the Donbass region.
The driver of one of the BMR-3 armored vehicles said that the crew of the vehicle, in cooperation with military engineers, destroyed 500 infantry and 19 anti-tank mines.
During the work, the crew had to replace the chain and 3 wheels of the vehicle when mines exploded nearby. No one was injured, as the vehicle was equipped with powerful protective equipment capable of combating all types of mines.
The car driver said that all armored vehicles of this type are equipped with air conditioning, which creates excellent conditions for comfort during the war, especially in hot weather.
It is noteworthy that the “BMR-3” is one of the newest Russian mine-clearing armored vehicles. It was given to the Russian army 5 years ago.
The T-90 tank platform with an engine power of 1000 hp is used in the armored vehicle and the armored vehicle can travel 290 km without refueling. The armored vehicle is equipped with a remote detonation device.
The armored vehicle crew consists of two people (the driver and the commander), and the armored vehicle can carry 3 military engineers. The vehicle is equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun for self-defense.
