Archaeologists have discovered an ancient “Stonehenge”-like complex dedicated to avocado cultivation in a field in southwestern Spain.
Live Science says that the rock complex discovered by archaeologists are vertical standing stones similar to the Stonehenge monument.
“Such large upright stones are called ‘Minhir’ in Europe, which probably derives from the Celtic word for ‘rock’.” Above and next to a cliff.
Researchers point out that some boulders are isolated from other boulders, some forming circles and some straight rows. In addition, a number of stones form tombs called dolmens (also called minarets) and other ritual forms whose purpose must be determined by experts.
Archaeologists have speculated that although no human remains have been found at the site, some structures may have been intended for the burial of the dead. However, scientists believe that the seeds are rotting due to the high acidity of the soil in the area.
