Oeiras has a new application that manages mobility in the municipality

In terms of soft mobility, the construction of at least 50 kilometers of bike lanes stands out, in addition to the expansion of the municipal network of shared bicycles, which will be added to the existing offer of ‘docless’ scooters and electric bicycles for short distances. travel.

Present at the presentation, the president of the Chamber of Oeiras, Isaltino Morais, highlighted that the pride that the executive has for the “ambitious projects that are underway” is “undeniable”, urging other entities with planning powers at the national level and regional ones follow the spirit of initiative that the municipality of Oeiras has demonstrated over the last decades.

Among the projects is the reactivation of the Oeiras Automatic Urban Transport System (SATUO), with a planned investment of 90 million euros, which will connect the CP Cascais/Oeiras line in Paço de Arcos with the business parks of the municipality and the Sintra CP line.

The intention, according to Isaltino Morais, “is to reactivate the system on the route between Paço de Arcos and Lagoas Parque and Quinta da Fonte in the coming years, hoping that, in less than a decade, the connection with Taguspark, which was in the initial plan, and then to the municipality of Sintra.”

The project “will respond to the travel flows of those who work in business parks, creating a “true alternative for efficient and sustainable mobility,” according to the president of Parques Tajo, Rui Rei.
