Russia tests the first unmanned naval research vessel in the Black Sea

The Russian United Shipbuilding Company has announced that the Pioner-M will take part in research in the Black Sea.

The Pioner-M is a small catamaran-type vessel specially designed to contribute to marine scientific research, hydrochemical research and deep sea and ocean drilling.

The important thing about this ship, which should be operated in the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of ​​Azov, is the advanced technologies that allow it to navigate autonomously without the need of a crew, and the ability of the ship it to navigate at high speed. Operates independently on missions up to 10 knots and 5 days.
