All continental districts under yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms

All the districts of continental Portugal are under a yellow alert this Monday due to the forecast of occasionally heavy rains, which could be hail and thunder, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Aveiro, Bragança, Porto, Vila Real and Viseu are under yellow notice until 6:00 p.m. this Monday due to the forecast of scattered storms accompanied by showers that could be hail.

The districts of Beja, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Évora, Faro, Guarda, Leiria, Lisboa, Portalegre, Setúbal and Santarém are under yellow alert until 00:00 on Tuesday due to the forecast of occasional showers, which could be hail. accompanied by thunder and storms.

The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.

The IPMA forecasts for this Monday periods of very cloudy sky and showers, sometimes strong, which can be hail and accompanied by storms and gustsbeing more intense in the Center and South.

The forecast also points to a predominantly light wind from the east, blowing from moderate to strong from the southeast in the south, especially in the mountains until well into the morning, a slight rise in the minimum temperature in the north and center and a decrease in the maximum.

The minimum temperatures will range between 15 degrees Celsius (in Bragança) and 20 (in Faro, Portalegre and Aveiro) and the maximum between 22 (in Guarda) and 31 (in Setúbal and Santarém).
