Dacia will offer its first hybrid on Jogger

Dacia, despite the constant reinforcement of the level of equipment, remains a manufacturer determined to contain the price of its models, to make them more accessible. That’s why it only installs systems and technologies in its vehicles that its customers want and are willing to pay for.

To respond to the latest demands of the brand’s customers, Dacia will adopt hybrid mechanics. In this case, the simplest solution and with the least profit in terms of consumption, the mild hybrid. The model chosen for this premiere is the new Jogger, offered among us for values from €17,000, in the five-seater version, and €900 more for the model with seating for seven passengers. And this price level, for a vehicle over 4.5 meters long, imposes some compromises.

the corridor mild hybrid will be presented at the Paris Motor Show, to open the order period in early 2023, and is also expected to hit the market early next year. However, the Romanian manufacturer of the Renault Group has not advanced many details about the new version, beyond the fact that it is the Jogger Hybrid 140.

Jogger is a cheap 7-seater crossover van

With these values, within the French group, we can only think of the Renault Arkana, a model with the same length as the TCe 140 Mild Hybrid version. Assuming that this is the mechanics that the Jogger will use, it is a 1333 cc four-cylinder supercharged petrol engine, which provides 140 hp and 260 Nm of force, helped, albeit slightly, by a small electric motor powered by a 12V system, which lends a hand to the combustion engine in the starting and acceleration phase.

We do not know the gain that this electrified mechanic will bring to the Jogger. But, in Arkana, it announces an average of 5.8 litres/100 km, which corresponds to emissions of 130g of COtwo/km. Interestingly, the Jogger range, in addition to the cheaper LPG versions, already includes a 110 hp gasoline engine with 5.6 liters of consumption, with 127 g of COtwo.

Surely it was the costs that led Dacia to limit itself to using the engine mild hybrid for the Jogger, since in the Arkana -and for only €1,500 more- a full hybrid mechanics of 145 CV and a consumption of 4.7 liters and 105 g of CO is offered as an alternativetwo.
