Scrambled is the new Lamborghini V12 plug-in hybrid of 1015 CV

Revuelto is Lamborghini’s new supercar, a name that means scrambled eggs in Spanish, but which the Italian manufacturer adopted because it refers to a famous bull, as is the case with all of the house’s models. The new model is also the brand’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV), combining a gasoline main engine with electric units not only to increase power -and the goal was to beat or match the 1001PS of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale-, and to ensure the ability to travel a certain distance in 100% electric mode.

For Lamborghini, as well as for the great rival Ferrari, it is clear that their clients want sports models, increasingly powerful and faster, but they also want to be able to drive in electric mode, transmitting an image of environmental responsibility that always looks good. . The Revuelto, successor to the Aventador, is just the first model from the house to adopt electrified mechanics, quickly followed by the Urus and then the successor to the Huracán.

We have already told you practically everything about the Lamborghini, which until now was only known as LB744. All that remained was to know the official photos, revealed this Wednesday, both from the exterior and the interior, as well as the occasional detail that the builder revealed along with the first images. The new 6.5 V12 engine is confirmed, completely restructured to become the most powerful V12 in the brand’s history, with 825 hp and 725 Nm, which continues to be mounted in the rear central longitudinal position. However, the gearbox, which is new, with eight relations and a double clutch, is now installed transversely, thus leaving space to place a small 3.8 kWh battery and a rechargeable 7 kW alternating current.

In addition to the V12, the Revuelto has three electric motors, all of them 110 kW, that is, 150 HP (and only 18.5 kg). One of the motors is inside the box, instead of the steering wheel, so the other two units, these 350 Nm each, are located on the front axle, each connected to its own wheel. The three electric motors come together to allow the Revuelto to drive in electric mode, rejoining hands when the accelerator is pressed hard, for a combined output of 1015 hp. But just the two front electric motors help ensure the stabilizing effect of torque vectoring, as well as all-wheel drive without the need for a longitudinal driveshaft to shift power from rear to front, allowing for a roomier cabin.

With a carbon fiber chassis that is 10% lighter and 25% stiffer than the Aventador, as well as having more refined aerodynamics, the Revuelto offers the driver the possibility to choose one of 13 driving modes, one of the which is 100% electric, being able to reach 350 km/h and go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. This acceleration capacity is helped by the fact that it only weighs 1,772 kg, 222 kg more than the Aventador Ultimae, the latest and lightest in the range.

In addition to having a more attractive and aerodynamically refined body, the Revuelto enjoys a more generous cabin, since in addition to the already mentioned absence of a driveshaft towards the front, the box is now installed behind the V12 instead of on the front. front of. , between the banks. It remains to be seen when it will arrive in Portugal and what will be the amount to pay to have access to the most powerful and technological of Lamborghini’s supercars.
