CNN host Abby Phillip told Inside Politics on Sunday that Fox News, and host Tucker Carlson in particular, supports a “white substitution theory.”
Phillip wrote, “During the weekend, Adam Kinzinger used the white substitution theory to draw the attention of House Republican, Alice Stefanik. Liz Cheney, the third person from the Republican Party, was fired for demanding the truth. You should ask that to the leader of the Republicans. It’s not just Eliza Stefanik. If you’re watching Fox News, this is most of their prime time. Tucker Carlson discusses this euphemistically sometimes, but not very euphemistically. What is this country doing?
New York Times reporter Alex Burns said, “This is a very, very difficult question because we don’t have the legal tools in this country to restrict radical speech in this way, and I’m not saying we should. I don’t think the government should knock on Tucker Carlson’s door at 2 o’clock because of what he said on the show, but It’s a cultural issue that our political leaders and the heads of major institutions in this country decide that they are bystanders.. on the other hand, when great politicians use this kind of rhetoric, or even flatter them and do it themselves.
