Princess Charlene reappears in the first official act in Monaco in several months

Round 6 of the 2022 Monaco E-Prix

Princess Charlene reappeared this Saturday, April 30, in an official act in Monaco. The last event in which she participated was on February 9, 2021 in the presentation of a rugby tournament in the principality, according to Hola magazine. In March last year she also attended the funeral of King Goodwill Zwelithini of the Zulu nation in South Africa.

More than a year later, the princess reappears in a public event, with Prince Albert and their two children, the twins Jacques and Gabriella. The family attended a Formula E championship race in Monaco. Charlene was very elegant, with a suit composed of pants and jacket in a dark gray tone.

The family of four was also joined by the princes’ nephew and Princess Stefanie’s son, Louis Ducruet, to attend this event. Formula E is an electric car competition, which was founded in 2011 by the president of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), Jean Todt, and the Spanish businessman Alejandro Agag.

A few weeks ago, the Princely Palace of Monaco shared a family photo with Prince Albert, Princess Charlene and their children, Jacques and Gabriella, to celebrate Easter. The last official family photograph had taken place in August 2021.

In May 2021, the princess traveled to South Africa to participate in a campaign by her foundation (Fondation Princess Charlène du Monaco) against rhino poaching. While there, she was the victim of a serious ear, nose and throat infection that not only forced her to undergo three surgeries (the last one in October), but also prevented her from traveling by plane, as she was unable to withstand the pressure exerted by the flight altitude.

Charlene returned from South Africa to Monaco at the beginning of last November. She, however, quickly left the principality to continue taking care of her “physical and mental” health, according to Prince Albert, at a clinic in Europe. She returned to the principality again last March.
