Duchess duo. Camilla was photographed by Kate for the cover of “Country Life” magazine

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and future queen consort of the United Kingdom, is the guest editor of an issue of Country Life and is also the cover of the magazine, in a photograph taken by her daughter-in-law, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.

The magazine’s content editor, Paula Lester, explains that it was Camilla who asked Kate to photograph her. “In fact, the set of images she took was so good that we had a hard time choosing just three, from which the Duchess of Cornwall made her final selection.” In the cover image we can see Camilla in a floral print dress and a cardigan, both in light blue tones, and accompanied by a basket of flowers in the garden of Raymill, her personal home in Wiltshire, in the middle of nature.

“The Duchess of Cambridge took her task very seriously and was incredibly professional with the task at hand.” Kate’s love for photography is already well known. It is the Duchess of Cambridge who captures some of the images of the family that are later made public on the occasion of important dates, in addition to giving wings to that personal interest in her work, such as in the realization of the national project Hold Still, or as patron of the Royal Photographic Society.

The invitation to edit the July 13 edition of Country Life came in connection with the 75th anniversary that Camilla will celebrate on July 17, but also because the Duchess is openly passionate about living in contact with nature. This issue of the magazine was prepared for six months and will have 244 pages. However, the magazine itself is also to be congratulated as it celebrates 125 years of publication.

The magazine shared your account and twitter a behind-the-scenes shot of the photo shoot, where you can see Camilla posing in the garden and Kate photographing her.

This is the Duchess of Cornwall’s first appearance with Country Life, at a time when Camilla seems to be in high demand in publishing circles. She made her British Vogue debut with an interview accompanied by a photo shoot in the July 2022 issue.

However, the magazine that celebrates the charm of the British countryside is well used to living with royalty. Prince Charles has already been a guest editor of the magazine twice: in November 2013, on the occasion of his 65th birthday, and then in 2018 when he turned 70. The sister of the heir to the throne has also collaborated with the magazine and was at front of the July 29, 2020 issue, also on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
