‘Racist garbage’: Hill blasts for GOP tweet aimed at ‘stealing’ Latino Democrat votes

Hill was fired on social media for tweeting that Republicans were trying to “steal” Hispanic voters from Democrats, implying they belonged to Democrats.

The tweet included an article from the publication explaining how the Republicans’ collaboration with Hispanic voters led to success. The article said:

Republicans are actively influencing Hispanic voters in key rival House of Representatives districts, hoping to snag voters from Democrats, who are repeating their historic habit of investing too little and too late in Hispanics.

“Spanish voters are likely to play an important role in at least a dozen counties in the November midterm elections.”

While the article explored the topic with some discussion, the tweet promoting the article got people excited.

“The Republican Party sees an opportunity to steal Hispanic voters from the Democrats,” the tweet said.

Critics of the tweet said the use of the word “steal” implied that Hispanic voters belonged to Democrats, who could be seized for political purposes, not those they served.

The tweet comes after First Lady Jill Biden smashed relations between Democrats and Hispanics this week when she compared voters to “tacos” during her speech at the Latinx Inclusion dinner on Monday.

Speaking about Raul Izaguirra, the founder of the USA, Biden said:

Raoul helped create this organization, realizing that the diversity of this community was as unique as the bodegas of the Bronx and as beautiful as the flowers of Miami, and here in San Antonio is your power. Biden spoke about Raul Izaguirra, the founder of the USA.

While the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) strongly condemned Biden’s statement as racist, there was a prompt and swift response to Biden’s comments.

“NAHJ Dr. “Biden and his speech-writing team will take the time to better understand the complexities of our people and community in the future.”

“We are not tacos” – NAHJ. continuity. “Our heritage as Spaniards is shaped by the diversity of diasporas, cultures and culinary traditions and should not be stereotyped.”

A spokesperson for First Lady Jill Biden said she was “sorry that her words meant nothing but pure admiration and love for the Hispanic community.”
