CNN’s political columnist Van Jones said on CNN’s OutFront on Thursday that President Joe Biden has done a great job if you ignore “the last six months of crazy stuff.”
Discussing the Democrats’ $670 billion bill, host Jim Sciutto said, “Let’s start with this budget bill. There are many more hurdles, but the biggest hurdle is Joe Manchin and until yesterday no one was talking about reviving this deal. Not everything is there, but pieces of Biden’s original agenda are. How important is the movement, how important is the victory of the Biden administration?”
Jones said: “The loud noise you hear in the background is a sigh of relief for the Democratic Party because we can do some things. It would have been better if it had happened earlier. But the truth is, to lead is to be first. Biden pushed, tried to do something about the climate. He promised he would. Will make. He insisted on doing something in microcircuits and semiconductors. Look, if you delete the last six months of crazy stuff, it looks like you have a president who can pass infrastructure law, can do something about COVID, can do something for the American people in the climate, can do something out of chips. It was a successful presidency. It’s just your bullshit for the last six months taking everything away from you.”
