Lemişeva, in an interview with the Russian Prime Minister’s Agency, states that keeping products and food in the refrigerator correctly according to the temperature of each shelf extends their validity and maintains their quality.
It is worth noting that, in his opinion, the temperature in the refrigerator varies from one shelf to another.
“For example, the refrigerator door is suitable for storing sauces, drinks and jams. The upper shelves of the refrigerator are suitable for storing perishable foods such as meat and various dairy products. Lower shelves and drawers are suitable for storing fruits and vegetables. “
Emphasizing that fruits, vegetables and dairy products should be kept separate, the expert emphasizes that they prefer to be wrapped in paper bags or cardboard, not plastic bags.
It’s best to store prepared foods in cans or containers on the middle shelf of the refrigerator, she explains. It is also recommended not to put hot food in the refrigerator.
