FBI Targets James O’Keefe’s Veritas Project Condemns Ashley Biden’s Diary

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) plans to use the criminal complaints of two people accused of stealing Ashley Biden’s diary on Thursday to prosecute Project Veritas journalist James O’Keefe, who reportedly turned the diary over to law enforcement in 2020.

On Friday, Robert Kurlander, 58, and Aimee Harris, 40, were found guilty of stealing the president’s daughter’s diary, which contained allegations of President Joe Biden’s misconduct, and conspiracy to sell it to Project Veritas for $40,000.

Ashley Biden reportedly left her diary at a friend’s house before selling it to Project Veritas. As Breitbart News previously reported, the FBI raided O’Keeffe’s private residence in November 2021 in search of evidence. O’Keeffe said Project Veritas was not involved in any theft and obtained the diary legally. He also stressed that Project Veritas did not publish the contents of the diary, but forwarded it to law enforcement. (Episodes have been published elsewhere.)

Newspaper “New York Times On Thursday, he reported that Kurlander had pledged to help the FBI investigate O’Keeffe and Project Veritas:

Aimee Harris, 40, and Robert Kurlander, 58, admitted they were involved in a conspiracy to move stolen materials from Ms. Biden’s Florida home to New York City, where Project Veritas is headquartered.

Prosecutors Mr. As part of a plea deal, Kurlander has agreed to cooperate with the Justice Department’s investigation into how the Project Veritas memo, which conducted fraudulent operations against liberal groups and mainstream news outlets, was obtained. Kurlander is a favorite of former President Donald Trump. .

The US Attorney’s Office in Manhattan launched an investigation in late October 2020 after Ms. Biden’s lawyers warned her that she wanted to interview her father about the contents of Project Veritas’ diary.

First Amendment jurisprudence has determined that news organizations cannot be prosecuted simply for publishing material that may have been obtained illegally, unless they are involved in the process of illegally obtaining it.

A key point of contention in the investigation may be whether Project Veritas was involved in inciting the theft of the diary or whether it simply obtained the diary, regardless of whether it was obtained illegally.
