MSNBC presenter Ari Melber said on The Beat on Monday that former President Donald Trump and his allies are fueling political violence.
In an interview with Fox News Sunday Night in America, Graham said, “There will be riots in the streets if they try to hold President Trump accountable for misusing confidential information after Hillary Clinton installed a server in her basement. I’m worried for the country.”
“Trump’s ally is directly threatening chaos and mayhem if prosecutors continue and end the trial of Donald Trump,” Melber said.
He continued, “This is now the sound of climbing. It’s a clear threat that Trump said to his online followers in a new post of the same clip.”
Trump’s lawyer, Alina Kabba, discussing Trump’s possible accusations in an interview with Newsmax, said, “At the end of the day, I think this is going to cause a lot of problems. That would be a huge mistake.”
Melber said, “The pogrom. Now why are Trump’s allies talking like that? It’s been happening from above lately. I’m not talking about some kind of flashback in the Trump story. In this latest debate, Trump sent an objectionable message to Attorney General Garland that was intended to be used as a covert back channel and found that he was testing people and they were very angry about the call.
“The broader context is the continuing attacks on the FBI, including those incited by Trump’s allies, including violence in our country, calls for civil war and, in short, “armed insurrection.” Trump has attacks demanding that it be above the law, or else “There will be chaos, people will die, maybe people will die. That’s rude.”
