Sunday Arab countries with an astronomical phenomenon!

Astronomy enthusiasts will encounter the so-called “giant full moon” as the skies of the Arab world are decorated next Sunday, May 15, with the first giant full moon in 2022.

“The phenomenon of the giant full moon that everyone will see in the sky of the Arab world next Sunday is the first time this year, given that it will be the giant full moon,” said the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The full moon of Shawwal will be slightly closer to Earth than usual, making it larger in size and brighter.

Giant full moon is a description given to the moon, whether in conjunction with the full moon, when the distance between the center of the moon and the center of the earth is 362,146 km, a term that refers to the scientific name (abyss). Month).

This means that the moon will be at the closest distance from the earth, and in the case of the full moon next Sunday, it will be at a distance of 362,127 km, which will be larger in size and brighter.

And the Jeddah astronomer explains that “the moon shines from the southeast horizon at sunset and may turn orange, scattering dust and other plankton into the atmosphere around the earth from which white light is reflected. “And the colors of the blue spectrum scatter, and the colors of the red spectrum we see remain, but after it rises.” “And its distance from the horizon appears in plain silver white, and this happens every month. It will decorate the sky all night long until it sets at sunrise.”
