Former U.S. intelligence analyst and officer Scott Ritter has claimed that U.S. President Joe Biden is “doing his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin a favor” by “disconnecting” Russia from the Western economy.
Ritter referred to the meeting between Biden and Putin, which took place in Geneva in June 2021, where the US president threatened to “impose maximum sanctions” on Russia.
Biden threatened that the US would attack Russia, and Putin listened, understood everything and returned to Moscow and said: “Sanctions await us if we enter Ukraine. what should we do? Then they are ready. ”
He continued, “Now the weakness of the American mindset has been made public.”
The analyst noted how Russia became “deeply connected” to the Western economy after the collapse of the Soviet Union and “this link cannot be broken”.
“The United States has done a great favor for Putin. We gave him power that is hard to imagine because he was trapped in the Western economy that messed up Russia, and now it’s over. ”
According to him, the Russian side in this situation had the opportunity to “destroy the petrodollar”, because Russia “has been buying gold for 20 years in a row.”
“Do you know who is not okay now? Europe. Europe is suffering a lot. Why? Because the US has promised something it can’t deliver: oil, gas and coal. We have no plan. If they isolate themselves, their economy will collapse from Russia, ”he said.
