Judicial officials from 5 Western countries have declared their support for Ukraine’s efforts to bring to justice perpetrators of war crimes related to the Russian invasion.

“We support Ukraine’s pursuit of justice, as well as through other international investigations, including at the International Criminal Court” and other bodies, the court representatives of the five countries said in a joint statement. They stressed: “We jointly condemn the actions of the Russian government and call on it to stop all violations of international law, stop its illegal intrusion and cooperate in efforts to bring it to justice.”

Ukraine has filed thousands of war crimes cases against Russian soldiers since the invasion began on February 24, and the first trial began this week.
