The Ukrainian intelligence services admitted this Friday that the war could last at least until the end of 2022, since, according to them, the Russian president is not willing to give up his plans for conquest.
“[Vladimir] Putin will not give up of their plans, this war will be prolonged,” Vadym Skibitsky, an official of the Ukrainian military secret services, told the media, quoted by international agencies.
Vadym Skibitsky argued that Putin is not listening to anyone trying to convince him to end the conflict.
“Trust no one, listen to no one. He has his own plans for the restoration of the Russian empire.“, assured the Ukrainian operative.
“His plan is to rule Russia until his death, he excludes a scenario that foresees a successor,” he added.
Moscow’s immediate plans, according to Vadym Skibitsky, are to encircle the Ukrainian forces and reach the borders of the occupied territories.
Western analysts have been warning that Russia is preparing for a protracted war, indicating that Moscow is betting on a “war of attrition.”
