According to the American newspaper THE HILL, the wife of a teacher who died in an attack in Texas a few days ago died of a heart attack.
Joe Garcia, who has been married to Irma Garcia for nearly 25 years, suffered a heart attack before he was killed by a gunman at Robb Elementary School.
The couple is survived by four children aged 13 to 23.
Garcia’s nephew, John Martinez, wrote on Twitter: “It’s sad to hear that Joe Garcia died of grief over the death of his wife.”
“I’m really at a loss for what we all feel, please pray for our family, God have mercy on us, it’s not easy.”
Martinez had previously announced her aunt’s death on Twitter: “Hindi natuloy, she sacrificed herself to protect the kids in her class. I pray for her and her family, a hero died. ”
Irma Garcia, along with Eva Meirelles, another teacher, killed 19 children when an 18-year-old boy shot an elementary school in Ovaldi, Texas, USA.
