According to the international group Tasnim News Agency, quoted by Reuters, German officials announced that a train derailed on Friday in the southern German Alps, as a result of which 3 people were killed and several others were seriously injured.
The train to Munich derailed at around 12:15pm local time in Burgren, near the resort town of Garmisch-Partnership, federal police said, according to the Associated Press.

The German news agency dpa reported that the local government in Garmisch-Partenkirchen said at least three people had been killed and many more injured.
The line between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberau was closed north of the scene.
