The man who stabbed a doctor and two nurses at a US hospital on Friday has been charged with attempted murder, US authorities revealed on Saturday.
The perpetrator of the incident has been identified as Ashkan Amirsoleymani, 35, charged with three counts of attempted murder, the Associated Press reported, citing police in Los Angeles, California.
The case occurred Friday afternoon, when a man stabbed a doctor and two nurses in the emergency department of Encino Hospital in the San Fernando Valley, southern California.
The man remained for more than two hours inside the medical center, and an intervention team was called, which ended up arresting him.
The injured were taken to a trauma center in critical condition, but later reports indicated they were in stable condition, fire officials said.
Authorities did not reveal a motive for the attack or reveal whether the attacker knew any of the three victims.
The attack came two days after a man killed a surgeon and three other people at a doctor’s office in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
