A US consulate in the city of Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan was attacked by a drone, a security source said.
The sources said that the bullet hit the road leading to Salahuddin resort, near the new US consulate building, which is still under construction, and caused material damage to several civilian vehicles.
And last March, Iran fired 12 ballistic missiles at the northern Iraqi city of Erbil, targeting the United States and its allies in an unprecedented attack on the Iraqi Kurdish regional capital.
Iran’s official media reported that “the Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for the attack, which took place in the early hours of Sunday morning, and said that it had targeted Israeli ‘strategic centers’ in the city.”
The KRG said the missiles targeted the US consulate, among other places.
