A public opinion poll conducted by Metropol Studies in Turkey revealed a low level of trust among Turkish citizens in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). According to the Zaman newspaper, the founder of the Metropolis for Research in Turkey, Özer Sincar, tweeted a tweet that revealed the results of an opinion poll conducted by the Metopol on how much Turks trust NATO. .

“Zaman” indicated that “the opinion poll included the question of whether they trust NATO” and Özer Sincar indicated that “two-thirds of the Turks do not trust the alliance, and only a quarter of the Turks trust it.” Sincar explained: “This is the right environment for those who want to distance Turkey from the West and bring it closer to the Middle East. This is a great success for nationalists and Eurasians and a great advantage for the ruling power.”

The poll showed that “70.3% of the voters of the National Movement Party and 66.8% of the voters of the Justice and Development Party who took part in the survey do not trust NATO, while at the level of opposition parties it was found that 66.7 % of Kurdish People’s Democratic Party voters, 62.4% of Republican People’s Party voters, 64.8% of Good Party voters and 63.3% of Happy Party voters do not trust NATO.
