Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday praised the performance of his country’s army in a special military operation in the Donbas region of Ukraine.
“Members of the Russian army are doing well in special military operations in Donbas,” Putin said in a speech to graduates of military academies in Moscow.
During his speech, he announced his intention to “modernize the Russian army with the latest types of weapons and the development of various Russian weapons.”
According to local officials, Putin’s remarks coincided with the Russian military’s effective control of the city of Toshkioka on the front line in Donbas.
Toshkiuka is on the front line in Donbass in eastern Ukraine, a few kilometers from Sorodontsk and Lyshansk, where clashes are taking place.
