In Newsmax TV’s National Report Tuesday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz lashed out at President Joe Biden as the president weighed in on the gas tax holidays.
Cruz described the move as “cheating” because the Biden White House was “scared” by the impending “November bloodbath.” He urged the president to “get off the backs of the Americans”.

Cruz: Fraud, of course. Joe Biden and the Biden White House are scared. Because the Americans didn’t like the direction we were going, they realized that they had turned into a bloodbath in November. Every policy of this administration is wrong. In many ways, this is impressive. They made many mistakes.
Everything goes up when there is inflation, especially gas. And the most important thing for understanding gas prices is not an accident. This is not an accidental side effect. Joe Biden campaigned for it. During his presidential campaign, he told the American people: “If you choose me, I will stop drilling. “I will stop drilling on federal soil, I will stop drilling on land, I will stop drilling offshore,” he said. He kept his word.
You know, in 2019, under President Trump, America was producing 13 million barrels of oil a day. Now, we’re doing 11.5 under Joe Biden. This means a decrease of 1.5 million barrels per day. And as the gas station labels say, Joe Biden – he did it. He knows, maybe they’ll have a tax holiday this holiday. One day is targeted for Election Day in November, and by the time Election Day is over, they want your gas to be more than $5 per gallon. They want the price to go up to $6, $7, $8 — aiming for $10 per gallon. Biden also – he’s frank – they want to make your life miserable if you drive a pickup truck, drive a minivan, don’t drive what they want. They want to make sure you don’t have to pay your bills because they want you to sell your truck and buy a small Prius and submit their request.
And Joe Biden, you’re leaving the Americans behind. Stop playing. If Biden wants gas prices to fall, he may approve the Keystone pipeline. If it wants gas prices to drop, it can start drilling on land and offshore. He can open ANWR for drilling if he wants the gas price to drop. If he wants gas prices to come down, he might approve a pipeline license because you can’t currently build a pipeline for new exploration in West Texas.
Joe Biden doesn’t want to do that because he is an ally of the radical Green New Deal and is a sign of desperation ahead of this November election.
