Last Friday, the Judicial Police (PJ) arrested six people allegedly belonging to “a criminal group” that was dedicated to the distribution of narcotic products in Portugal, acquired in the south of Spain, it was announced this Sunday.
In a statement, the PJ specifies that the operation called “Areia Branca” had the objective of “dismantling the group”, with five men and one woman, between 32 and 38 years old, who have been arrested in recent months. “They had dedicated themselves to the national distribution of significant quantities of the drug”.
In the operation carried out through the National Unit for the Fight against Drug Trafficking of the PJ, 18 kilograms of cannabis leaves, six kilograms of hashish, about 100 MDMA-Ecstasy pills and a small amount of cocaine.
In addition to the narcotic products, several vehicles, telecommunications equipment, money and other objects “with relevant interest to prove the facts under investigation” were seized, the Police said.
In the document, the PJ does not specify the place where the arrests and police arrests took place.
According to the PJ, the detainees were heard in the first judicial interrogation, with the court ordering preventive detention for four of them, while the other two are obliged to make periodic presentations and are prohibited from contacting the others.
