British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss disagreed with Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s view that if Russia had been led by a woman, she would not have allowed a special operation to start in Ukraine, and said: “I think a woman has the same ability to create evil is like a man.”

Johnson stated that “Russia would not launch a sting operation in Ukraine if Russian President Vladimir Putin were a woman, which is obviously not the case”, and called Putin’s actions towards Ukraine “a great example of toxic masculinity”.

Earlier at a dinner for G7 leaders, Johnson joked after being asked whether they should keep or take off their jackets: “We have to show that we’re cooler than Putin” by suggesting “show your chest muscles.”

For his part, Putin, in response to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s statement about the Russian military operation in Ukraine, indicated that “this is not a very tactful indication from Johnson about what is happening today.”
