Biden noted during a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Peace Palace that “we discussed with the leadership the importance of freedom of navigation for everyone, including Israel, and we talked about the ceasefire in Yemen that began three months ago. back.”
He explained that “they discussed strengthening our position in the coming decades and investing in fifth-generation technologies in coordination with partners,” noting that “the Saudi Arabian authorities agreed to establish and maintain a ceasefire in Yemen.”
He added: “We are looking to bring down energy prices and we should wait two weeks to see that drop and there was a good series of meetings and we discussed Saudi Arabia’s defense needs.”
Biden said he “discussed with Saudi officials the issue of energy and the need to provide markets with what they need, and I look forward to practical steps from Riyadh”, noting that “we will work to strengthen the security of Saudi Arabia in the face of any threat and will not leave a vacuum in the Middle East to be filled by Russia or China.”
