A number of activists and citizens protested in front of the Moroccan parliament on Monday evening against a visit to the country by Israeli army chief of staff Aviv Kochavi. Moroccan activists, civic and human rights figures and citizens gathered in the square opposite the Moroccan Parliament in the Moroccan capital of Rabat as part of a popular protest against the visit of Kochavi, who arrived in Rabat last night.

In this context, and according to what the Hespress newspaper reported, protesters chanted slogans condemning Kochavi’s visit to Rabat, considering his decision on the kingdom’s land issue “a new crime of normalization against the Moroccan and Palestinian peoples and the peoples of the nation.”

Yesterday, Monday, Israeli army spokesman Avihai Adraei announced that “Chief of Staff General Aviv Kochavi arrived in Morocco this evening on an official visit, the first of its kind”, explaining that “the visit will begin on Tuesday with a review of the guard of honor and then a meeting with Moroccan Defense Minister Abdellatif Loudi, Inspector General of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces Lieutenant General Belheir Al-Farouk and other security officials.
