The Saudi police announced the arrest of a citizen and transfer him to the prosecutor’s office after facilitating the arrival of a foreign journalist in Mecca Al-Mukarram and following the path of Muslims. This came about five days after Israel’s Channel 13 published a report by its correspondent, Gil Tamari, showing his secret entrance to Mecca during the Hajj season.

And the official Saudi press agency quoted Al-Mukarram, a Mecca police spokesman, as saying that “a citizen who has transferred and facilitated the entry of a non-Muslim journalist and who has American citizenship in the holy capital (Mecca) through his behavior is the Muslim way.” He added: “The citizen has been handed over to the prosecutor’s office to take legal action against him.”

A police spokesman confirmed: “What the Saudi national has done is a clear violation of the rules prohibiting non-Muslims from entering Makkah.” He urged everyone who comes to Saudi Arabia to “respect the rules and observe what they stipulate, especially regarding the two sacred mosques (the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque) and sacred feelings.”
