The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has announced the closure of all its facilities until further notice, with the exception of 22 health centers in the Gaza Strip.

And she pointed out in a statement released by the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) that “the centers will open their doors during regular business hours starting at 8:30 am, but they will be limited to providing basic services only, including: dispensing medicines for patients with chronic diseases and high pregnancies. Risk (and non-severe cases will be followed up by phone), all postpartum cases, vaccinations for children, cases of acute toothache and emergency laboratory services.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has warned of a countdown to the cessation of medical services in hospitals within the next 72 hours.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli army expected to continue its aerial bombardment of the Gaza Strip for a week, noting that there were currently no ceasefire talks with Islamic Jihad.

An army spokesman told AFP that the Israeli army was “preparing to continue the operation for a week … and there are no ceasefire negotiations currently underway,” confirming Israeli media reports.
