According to the Joint Coordination Center, which oversees the operation, 5 cargo ships loaded with grain will depart from the Ukrainian ports of Chernomorsk and Odessa to continue exporting grain today, Sunday.
The ships will carry a total of more than 161,000 tons of corn and food to Turkey, China and Italy, according to the Joint Coordination Center, which will track their progress until they reach Istanbul, where they will be inspected at sea before crossing the sea. According to AFP, the Bosphorus Strait. Al-Arabiya.net checked it.
With the movement of ships, Ukraine’s grain exports are gradually progressing at a steady pace.
The Joint Coordination Center said in a statement that it is “finalizing the regular export procedures” within the framework of the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.
“Programs may be affected by preparations, weather conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances,” he said.
The center allowed the cargo ship “MV Osprey” to proceed empty to Chernomorsk after an inspection off the coast of Istanbul on Sunday.
The Joint Coordination Center was established in Istanbul based on the international agreement signed on July 22 between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations.
The agreement allows for the resumption of Ukrainian grain exports, which have been suspended since Russia’s attack on February 24, and the shipment of Russian agricultural products despite Western sanctions.
On Saturday evening, experts completed the inspection of the Navistar oil tanker, which left Odessa for Ireland on Friday.
The center confirmed that two other ships that departed at the same time would be inspected on Sunday.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy welcomed the resumption of the export of Ukrainian agricultural products by sea in his address to the Ukrainians on Saturday evening. He said: Our ports in the Black Sea are working.
But the main risk is still (in terms of) security related to the risk of Russian provocation and terrorist actions that still exist. Everyone should understand this. But if our partners fulfill their obligations and guarantee the security of delivery, he added: the global food crisis will be solved.
