Twelve people, including two children and a gunman, were killed and six others wounded in a random shooting in Montenegro on Friday, a prosecutor told Feste TV after a preliminary investigation at the crime scene.
Montenegrin police chief Zoran Berdjanin said a 34-year-old man killed two brothers, aged 8 and 11, with a shotgun and wounded their mother, who later died in hospital.
Berdianin said: “The family stayed in the shooter’s house as tenants. He added that the motive for the shooting was still unclear, while state television described the incident as a “family dispute.”
The shooter then left his home and killed 7 more people. Berdianin said that a policeman was injured in the shooting.
“When we arrived at the scene, we found nine bodies, including two children, and two others died on the way to the hospital,” prosecutor Andreana Nestic told Vieste TV.
He added: “I can only say that the shooter was killed by a citizen (civilian). The media had previously said that the police killed the shooter.
