After intense efforts, Yahya managed to get 5 children out from under the fire and save a worker who was injured in this incident.

The young Egyptian man spoke to Sky News Arabia from his room at Mbaba State Hospital after doctors began treating his fractures and resuscitating him with emergency oxygen sessions.

Yahya said: The beginning of the incident was at 8:30 in the morning and at that time I was standing on the balcony and saw smoke coming from the fourth floor of the church and after a few seconds I saw a worker waiting for help and rescue. But he was oppressed by the heavy smoke and lack of oxygen in his room, he was forced to throw himself from one of the balconies of the church and fell dead.

He continued: I entered again to save Uncle Gregs and he was about to die, I carried him on my shoulders and walked a few meters, but we fell from the fourth floor to the third floor due to being together. “So much water on the stairs that we passed out together before he saved us.” Paramedics are being transferred to Imbaba Hospital.

Yahya is bruised on his leg before the doctors notice the fracture and is quickly treated by putting on a medical splint while giving him constant oxygen sessions.
