The U.S. Department of Defense “Pentagon” has indicated that “the nearly three billion dollar military aid package announced to Ukraine is the largest, but not the last”, indicating that it will “strengthen the resistance of the Ukrainian army” in light of the ongoing Russian military operation since February 24.

“Laser missile systems complement the weapons systems previously delivered to Ukraine,” the Pentagon said in a statement.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced new military assistance to Kyiv in the amount of about three billion dollars, timed to coincide with the anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, and the Russian operation in Ukraine was in its seventh month.

In a statement, Biden noted that “this will allow Ukraine to acquire air defense systems, artillery systems, ammunition, anti-aircraft systems and radars so that it continues to defend itself in the long term.”

The Biden administration has provided a total of about $8.8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, and since 2014 the United States has provided more than $10 billion in security assistance to Ukraine.
