Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that “his country will go through the most difficult winter in history”, noting that “most European countries are doing their best to adapt to the current conditions”.
“The government of Ukraine and all government institutions are doing everything to be ready for this winter season,” Zelenskiy said in a statement. “This will be the most difficult season in our history.”
Pointing out that “the current situation in the energy market is very dangerous and very severe”, he noted that most European countries have dealt with the issue of energy with great responsibility and are doing their best to adapt to the existing conditions.
The German government also reduced heating in public buildings and banned illuminated billboards to reduce energy consumption.
In this context, French President Emmanuel Macron said a few days ago that “the coming months will require people’s efforts and sacrifices, given that the world is facing a major transformation and a potentially difficult winter.”
The Confederation of British Industries also emphasized a few days ago: “The government must support the needy against the increase in energy bills this winter.”
Diesel levels have fallen in storage across Europe, with Europe fearing the dusty fallout from the implementation of sanctions on Russian oil supplies that portend a tough winter.
European natural gas prices crossed the €300/MWh threshold yesterday, the highest level since a record high in March.
