Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said: “Signing the nuclear deal with Iran does not impose obligations on Israel, and we will do everything in our power to protect our security.” He explained that “the Mossad and the Israeli army have been instructed to prepare for all scenarios regarding Iran”, noting that “we support a nuclear agreement that tightens control over Iran and concerns its ballistic missile program and the practice of terrorism.”

In a statement, he added: “A good deal can be reached with Iran if there is a real military threat,” stressing that “negotiations with Washington this week prevented attempts to make concessions to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.” He stressed: “We informed Washington that the nuclear document is inconsistent with the statements of US President Joe Biden during his visit to Israel”, adding: “We have the right to defend ourselves if the nuclear agreement is signed”, stressing that “we will fight for an agreement with all your might, but without harming the strategic relationship with the United States.

Lapid said: “We are making a coordinated effort to make sure everyone understands the danger of the nuclear deal with Iran,” stating, “The current deal proposed with Iran is more dangerous than the 2015 Vienna agreement. We need to put pressure on Iran to sign a better deal.” He explained that “a strong agreement with Iran can be reached if it is combined with a real military threat”, stressing that “we are ready to protect our security, and the US is aware of this reality.” He pointed out that “our diplomatic mission from day one is to fight this agreement with Iran.”

And on Thursday, August 25, the Axios website reported, citing Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, that “the Americans have answered most of what we asked for in their response to the draft nuclear agreement.”
