Russian forces shot down a Ukrainian military drone over the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant that had targeted the plant’s spent nuclear fuel storage facilities, Russian news agency TASS reported.

Authorities in the separatist city of Energodar said “the cargo of a suicide drone was detonated by Ukrainian forces over the nuclear power plant after it fell on the roof of the building. There were no casualties or material damage.”

Russian authorities accuse Ukraine of carrying out strikes on Energodar, home to Europe’s largest nuclear power plant. According to Moscow, Ukrainian forces are using drones, heavy artillery and multiple launch rocket systems to strike at the nuclear power plant.

An International Atomic Energy Organization mission is planning to visit the plant, which has been under Russian control since March last year, and the planning for the visit comes after Moscow and Kyiv exchanged accusations of bombing the area.
