The Seoul Arms Procurement Agency reported that “two South Korean companies have signed a $5.76 billion contract with Poland for the export of tanks and howitzers,” noting that Hyundai Rotem will supply Poland with K2.Black Panther tanks and a defensive armament division Hanwha will supply K9. howitzers.

She indicated that “the signed contract covers the first batch without disclosing the quantity”, noting that “the contract for the aircraft is expected next month.” The contract, which was signed in Poland last Friday, is part of the largest arms deal South Korea struck last month with Poland, according to Reuters.

Poland agreed to a deal to buy tanks, howitzers and FA-50 combat aircraft as part of the deal. Both sides have not announced the value of the entire deal, which South Korean media have estimated at 20 trillion won ($15 billion).
