The coordination structure in Iraq called on “the Sadrist movement to return to the dialogue table”, saying that “it is impossible to remain neutral when state institutions are being attacked and destroyed.” He stressed that “the government and security agencies must protect state institutions, as well as public and private interests.”

The coordinating structure believed that “everyone should prevent rebellion, give priority to the language of reason and dialogue, and rid the country of chaos and bloodshed”, pointing out that “it is necessary to develop practical and realistic solutions that take the constitution, law and the language of dialogue as the basis for resolving crisis.”

Demonstrations resumed today in Iraq after Sadrist leader Muqtada al-Sadr announced his retirement from political work as his supporters stormed the Republican Palace in the Green Zone in Baghdad, leading to clashes between security forces and Sadrist supporters, leaving after themselves 10 killed and more than 200 wounded.
